How to Improve Your Gas Mileage (and How Not To)
From Fivecentnickel.com:
With gas prices on the rise, I thought I’d highlight a recent article from Consumer Reports on ways to save on gas — and ways not to. Given the results of my recent experiment on improving gas mileage, I can vouch for pretty much all of these.
1. Drive at a moderate speed. Keeping a […]

The Divine Love Expands to Pittsburgh, PA
Dear New Vrindavan family and friends of the Sankirtan movement,
Hare Krishna. Please accept our humble obeisances. All Glories to Srila Prabhupada.
As you may already know, we have been spending a lot of time in Pittsburgh over the past few months sharing Krishna Consciousness with the local people. The response has been very positive. Many sincere […]

Find God Through Silence
“Prabhupada: Practically that is real silence. If you simply engage yourself in activities of Krsna consciousness, then automatically your activities in maya become silent. Just like the same example I have given. Here is a glass. If you want to fill up with milk, the water will go automatically. You have to throw away the […]

Simple Living, High Thinking Issue #7
For the week of July 14th-20th, 2008
Grab a shovel, plow it into some dirt, and smash it into a tire. Then you’ll know it’s time for our weekly update on the Small Farm Training Center here at New Vrindaban Dham.
(Apologies for the late post this week. A heavy-duty lightning strike wiped out our servers for […]

Touched By Lightning
“His countenance was distinguished by cheeks that enhanced the beauty of His alligator-shaped pendants, which outshone lightning. “
Srimad Bhagavatam 3.15.41
I was at the Sunday Feast and sitting on the lawn in front of the temple talking to Soma and some other devotees. It had started to rain so we moved under a tent that was […]

Note From Asto
I have posted about Asto’s community building project in Africa here and here. He has replied with this:
Dear Madhava Gosh,
Thank you very much for your praise. However, I do not feel I have done as great a job as some may think. All I am is a tool in the hands […]

Vacation
We are here in sunny California soaking up the sun, surf and fun with the kids. There is so much to tell. Just going to the ocean is such a treat when one lives in land-locked West Virginia. The strange thing here is that just driving from Novato to the beach the temperature drops 10 degrees. On our last day at the beach it was even too cold for the guys to go in with their wet suits on. Raja has a bold adventurous spirit. He likes surfing and skateboarding along with all the other kid stuff.

Closing Thoughts On The 2008 Transplant Games
I realize I am going on and on about these Games but they were a big deal for me, both as a goal to strive for and use as motivation to rehab, and also as an experience. Over 6,000 people attended including athletes, living donors, donor families, and volunteers so it was pretty […]

“Greatest Embrace” by Lisa Lynne Mathis
This road’s been long
Now I must go
If I could I would stay
But what is true
In your heart you must know
I’ll see you again someday
I’ll see you again someday
I held on
As long as I was meant to
I held on longer still
I’m safe in this place
Where I’ll be forever
And I will wait for you
Yes, I’ll be waiting […]

Masters of Mridanga - Saints of the Drum Beat Religion
Beats so deep they’re ingrained in the soul. True grooves rock steady make stones roll. Girls play hard to get you going. Boys so smooth they can’t stop flowing.
You won’t believe your ears, everybody cheers as these drummers show no sign of slowing.
One of many totally awesome groups to make up the members of Krishna […]
